Innovation Platform
Harnessing our innovation platforms, we drive breakthroughs in cutting-edge fragrance technologies and transform research into tangible outcomes. By tackling the toughest challenges in aroma innovation and production, we inject powerful, sustainable momentum into the fragrance industry’s future.
Hangzhou Grascent Research Institute and Jiande R&D Center host a provincial-level R&D center, provincial engineering center, provincial enterprise technology center, provincial agricultural R&D center, and a postdoctoral workstation.
Hangzhou Grascent Research Institute
The institute spans 1,240 m² and includes a synthetic biology R&D zone and a chemical synthesis R&D zone. The synthetic biology zone is equipped with a high-throughput microbial screening platform and gene-editing workstations, focusing on microbial-assisted organic synthesis and the bio-organic synthesis of natural aromachemical. The chemical synthesis zone is equipped with precision chemical reaction systems (such as low-temperature reactors and catalytic reactors) and precision distillation columns, and is dedicated to developing chemical synthesis processes for fragrance materials and key intermediates, as well as exploring new chemical synthesis pathways for aroma chemical molecules. Together, these facilities provide the R&D Center with a rich and diversified technological foundation.

Jiande R&D Center
The Jiande center includes an organic synthesis laboratory and a pilot-scale base. The laboratory focuses on core technological development in the fragrance field and is equipped with moisture-free and oxygen-free organic synthesis systems, high-pressure reactors, and precision distillation columns. Additional analytical instruments include Agilent gas chromatographs and gas chromatograph-mass spectrometers, supporting the development of new synthetic processes under diverse conditions and enabling efficient industrialization of technologies from the research institute. The laboratory also develops targeted new organic synthesis routes for fragrances used in food and personal care industries.
The pilot-scale base plays a key role in transforming laboratory research to industrialization during the fragrance R&D. It is divided into three functional zones, including organic reaction, purification and separation, and high-pressure reaction, achieving standardized operations across the full process. Equipped with pilot-scale organic reaction systems (matching scale-up parameters from laboratory processes) and high-efficiency distillation columns (ensuring high-purity separation of products), it can precisely simulate industrial production conditions. By optimizing process parameters, validating stability, and controlling costs, the R&D team effectively bridges the gap between laboratory development and industrial-scale production, ensuring that laboratory innovations are efficiently and reliably transformed into fragrance products available for mass production.
